The folk working there are so very lovely, especially the gentleman at reception. It is also in a great location, which pulls in a really diverse bunch of people. The bookshop is also amazing with so many gems. Wish I was still living in Hackney, I would be a regular at the Centre for sure.

guide name: Yusoff RamdzanFree museum. Went on a weekend. Moderate crowd. No lining up or booking required. Just walk in. Very accessible galleries. Kids 12, 10 and 3 enjoyed themselves - lots of stiff catering to different developmental ages. There's outdoor activities on selected days too - just staff entertaining the kids and parents. All round fun.

guide name: Chris DoddTHE MANAGER IS UNHINGED. Just had a horrendous experience, not just in a cinema but in general. We were waiting to get photos next to a small backdrop before the european short awards. This concerning maniac comes through and says we have to move for Health and Safety( the irony as we didnt feel safe with him about) the photographers asked him to speak to the organiser as there was obviously some confusion He was very aggressive in response, he started shouting at us.. the audience. He stormed off slamming open a door as he said 'you know what, it doesn't matter'. We stood in confusion as a crowd slowly making our way into the cinema. He then came back more aggressive and furious as ever. Said the awards was going going to be cancelled. One audience member stood up to him (which I have huge respect for) and he was thrown out. I have since seen in another review the cinema said he was thrown out for aggressive behaviour and they don't tolerate it. I was there and I can safely say this response actually endorses aggressive behaviour from their manager at their venue. An absolute caotic and disturbing experience all caused by an unhinged person who evidently has heard the sound of his own voice for long enough. I dont think it's a coincidence that this aggression has been mentioned numerous times in the other reviews.!!!!!!!!!! Oh and I took a photo of the area that he had a hissy fit that we blocked when queuing as there were 150 at the awards I was told. Just so happens to be the area for buying the snacks...which blocks the area he said had to be free for safety. All in all he is a bully.

Haggerston Park
guide name: Shanroy DehaneyThis park is located close to Hackney City Farm. I went to visit the farm with my kids, and just around the corner was this relaxing park. It had a very engaging play area, which my kids enjoyed. It also had a nice sports area, with tennis courts, and football pitches. It then opened up to nicely laid lawns where many people were just relaxing, while others were sunbathing. There was also people there having a party and the atmosphere was buzzing. I will visit again as we didn't get to see half of this park.

guide name: Michèle Saint MichelI sat on a bench at Mile End Park with a chai from the Victoria Park Pavilion and a Buns From Home that almost made me believe in romance again. The vanilla custard was cold was cold but not unfriendly. Everything felt open. I sat all my bags down, chewed slowly, and decided to plan out the rest of my life. Not in a dramatic way. More—okay, here we are. Something about this park lets you think big thoughts without panic. Horses exercise here. People cycle by. And the city softens like brioche. Highly recommend for life pivots, gentle breakdowns, or overfilled pastries you want to eat in peace.

Hackney City Farm
guide name: Mo HPWe had a lovely trip to the farm and the kids especially had great fun. There was also a little garden just next to the farm that had a fun activity trying to find all the different objects in the garden which the kids loved. However, if you’re planning a full day trip I wouldn’t recommend this as a full day out activity as the farm was quite small. Instead there’s a kids play area just behind the farm to visit but also Victoria Park nearby which has lots of geese and boats which can be great fun. All in all loved the farm and will definitely be coming in the future! 🤍

The Viktor Wynd Museum of Curiosities
guide name: Sutapa BAn very unique and unusual experience where innumerable pieces starting from hairballs, used condoms by rockstars, celebrity poop, taxidermy, dodo skeletons, double headed lamb, voodoo dolls and tribal collections are all put together in a small underground room, for you to explore at leisure The room is very small with spiral staircase leading down from the absinthe parlour above, so not good for anyone with disability or claustrophobia. We visited around the time of Halloween, so was rather enjoyable. The entry to the absinthe parlour upstairs is free and also an experience as long as you have a good staff explaining everything (we didn't and so for us it was a waste of time). Great place to visit if you are in awe of the magic, macabre and Natural history.

Pavilion Cafe Victoria Park
guide name: Katy de lepperThis was a lovely stop. What an amazing cafe to stop by when you're having a stroll in the park. I had the cheese and kimchi toasty and it was perfect. Gooey salty melted cheese on a crispy sourdough bread, all balanced out with some sour kimchi to the side. Exactly what i wanted. We also got some baked goods. The Chocolate au pain, chocolate chip cookie and a cinnamon roll. All baked perfectly to my liking. Airy soft au pain, chewy dens cinnamon roll and soft and chewy chocolate cookies. Personally i liked the vibe a lot, especially with some nice reggae music to accompany my lunch. Thank you so much!

They even had a pianist perform live and I enjoyed their choice of songs. The french toast was amazing! For a group of 13, I was required to pre-order food from a set menu where each person gets 2 items. I had to give this list a few days before the visit, but only on the due day was I given an electric form that needs to be sent to my guests individually to fill in their orders and allergy info. The form did not work and I was a bit frustrated that they didn’t give me a working form upon booking. They accepted what I wrote in the end. It took me a long time to chase after my guests for what they want, so I don’t recommend large groups if you also find that a hassle. Perhaps as an apology for the booking form, they offered free drinks. I understand that a large group of people can easily overwhelm a small restaurant and preordering makes sure that we all get what we want to eat. I just wished that they gave me a working form earlier for the guests to fill in.

guide name: Linda TalosIt is my new favorite Sunday roast in the west end/mile end/Victoria park area. We came around 1pm on a Sunday and were able to score a table on the terrasse. The food was ready in about 15 mins which helped a lot since we were in a hurry this time. We go to lunches often in the area and overall this is the best we had this year. I marked the place as my fav to go for a beef roast. The meat was tender and juicy, the trimmings were perfectly roasted and the amount of gravy and horseradish was just right. Compliments to the chefs! The dining areas were full of people eating so the locals know this is the place to eat lunch on a Sunday. They also do chicken, pork and veggie options for roast. Service was friendly and attentive. The pub is just south of Victoria park close to Regent's Canal. We will be regulars from now on.
