All credit goes to Aruna, who is an absolutely brilliant instructor. His patience, calming presence and encouragement made the whole experience really stress-free. He was always super helpful, provided proper guidance and really built my confidence with each lesson. He’s also just a nice bloke! guide name: PahrisGreenwich Park: Where Autumn Leaves Meet Canine Social Hierarchy Greenwich Park in autumn transforms into a kaleidoscope of colours that could genuinely rival Kew Gardens – russets, golds, and burnt oranges cascading across the landscape with the sort of natural drama that makes you forgive London for being predominantly grey the rest of the year. The park was predictably crowded, which is what happens when you combine spectacular foliage with a World Heritage Site and reasonable Tube access. But the real revelation was the sheer density of dog walkers – an overwhelming canine convention that made me feel conspicuously incomplete without a lead in hand. It's as if Greenwich Park operates an unspoken membership requirement: bring dog, gain entry to secret autumn appreciation society. I watched labradors bound through leaf piles, terriers negotiate the steep hills with determined intensity, and various designer breeds pose for Instagram with their equally well-groomed owners. Meanwhile, I wandered solo like some sort of suspicious character who'd forgotten the password. The leaves themselves were genuinely magnificent – nature's final flourish before winter's arrival, each tree competing for most dramatic colour transformation. Sweet chestnuts glowed golden, oaks blazed copper, and the occasional scarlet burst from Japanese maples added theatrical punctuation to the palette. But without a dog, I felt oddly exposed – like attending a fancy dress party in regular clothes while everyone else committed fully to the theme. Four stars for the autumn display, minus one for making solo, dog-free humans feel like social outcasts. Next time: borrow a spaniel for credibility.

guide name: Alexander KempFantastic market in the heart of the old town of Greenwhich. A great variety of food and good for Christmas gifts and trinkets. There is a nice art and poster shop as well. Very good coffee on offer and don’t miss the old school pie and eel shop just as you enter or exit the market. The prices were reasonable as well.

guide name: Chris B (Chris)Really interesting historic boat that isn't about the military. The exhibit is in very good condition and eerily held up from the floor (for good reason as they explain) allowing you to walk under it which just feels weird?! Views are good from the top deck and some very informative videos and side panels throughout. Various ad hoc performances and offerings provided throughout the day (we did some rope making which the kids enjoyed), toilets are in good order, cafe available at the end and about a dozen lockers available for bags (need a £1 coin but you get it back). Really solid visit, would recommend but you will get it done in a couple of hours.

Royal Observatory Greenwich
guide name: Chris B (Chris)Very interesting place to visit with beautiful views from both inside and outside the Observatory. Packed full of information and exhibits which explains how and why the Observatory was so important, particularly for maritime exploration. Toilets are available but down some stairs, unsure if there were any accessible toilets. The Observatory is, unsurprisingly, on a hill and it is quite steep if you are approaching it across the park from the maritime museum direction. There is a longer route if you need a shallower hill. We didn't use this route but the sign said it takes 18 min compared to 6 min for the direct hill route. Kids loved it and a nice shop at the end too. Definitely recommend.

guide name: Oana GusatuAmazing place. So much to do and see. The Pirates exhibition was a bit underwhelming focusing more on fictional characters than real pirates. The children’s gallery downstairs was amazingly entertaining. The cafe on floor 1 has a few basic items like scones and a few sandwiches but no fruit for kids.

guide name: Urban StayWow! This has got to be the best pub in all of London!! The beer garden is amazing with the beautiful lights. The interior is just stunning!! I want to live here 😍. The food was outstanding- large portions and seriously the best pub food selection and taste we've had anywhere in 11 years living in London. Live music was yet another plus! Loved it so much!!

guide name: Hayley HunwicksWe hosted the second part of our wedding celebrations here in July and it was just perfect. The space was a large space felt really special. We had a mixture of pastries, scones with Jam and cream and buzz fizz and everything was lovely. We could even play our own music. There were about 50 of us and everyone loved it. The staff were so friendly and attentive on the day and also with communication leading up to our event. We were going to uptown festival and this our meeting point before the festival to have a bite to eat, a toast and get 'festival ready' and it was the perfect spot !! Thanks to all the staff for hosting us :) Really recommend this venue for any event and such a lovely spot in Greenwich!

It was an honour to attend one of the last shows before the planetarium's two-year redevelopment project begins, and it was the perfect send-off. The truly charismatic astronomer Greg led the show, making the experience educational and incredibly entertaining. He didn't just rattle off facts; he wove together a fascinating narrative with exciting stories about the observatory's rich history and the wonders of the cosmos. We were taken on a journey through time, observing what the night sky would have looked like when the Royal Observatory opened its doors in 1675. It was a unique and powerful way to connect with the history of astronomy. Greg's passion was infectious, making complex topics accessible and engaging for everyone in the audience. The entire show was a captivating blend of storytelling and science. I highly recommend visiting the Royal Observatory and its planetarium when it reopens. It's a must-do for anyone interested in space, history, or simply looking for a memorable experience.

Premier Inn London Greenwich hotel
guide name: Paul LeeStayed here the last couple of weeks for work with 4 colleagues, the 1st few nights where Ok & breakfast is good, however the night time meals are very hit and miss, as nobody seems to be in charge, i.e. people are, wandering into the restraint area to see if there is someone to serve them at the bar etc, we booked a table for 18:45 & we where still awaiting for our order to be taken at 19:45, one of my colleagues asked politely if our table could be serviced and they just looked and ignored him, he came back to the table and we could hear the staff laughing and joking to each other, after an additional 15 minutes we decided to try to find an alternative place to eat, we informed a member of staff of the situation and the reply was "its not my fault we are short staffed" even though the restaurant was only at approximately 20% capacity, unfortunately we have been booked in for another 4 weeks so currently negotiating a move with the office, If you have the same situation I can however recommend a restraint literally 2 minutes walk away, will be eating there from now on. UPDATE fare is fare to be honest since my original review this has changed as they have a few new key staff, nicholas is very professional and polite, this is the main reason i'm reviewing my original review things have changed with waiting and the food has improved, well done.
