Knit with attitude
guide name: Yael GlanvillWe visited this knitting shop in September to choose wool from a good selection to knit a baby cardigan. Shortly after I had a life saving cancer operation and have been recovering for a month. When we found out that our grandchild was going to be a boy I wanted to exchange the cream wool that we had purchased - which we were told was white when we bought it - as it was exactly the same as the wool I had begun knitting a baby cardigan in. I visited the shop on 29/10/2025 and I was informed that I should have done this in the first two weeks, which was when I was in hospital. I explained the situation expecting some sympathy but the answer was still no. While I understand that the shop is small and the wool is bought in small batches, I was not asking for my money back, I just wanted to exchange it for a different colour, and the person didn’t even check the batch number for the cream colourway to see if it was still being stocked. Sadly I will not be buying anything more from this shop, which is a shame as I have always supported small businesses.

Little Stars Nursery N16 Limited
guide name: Alexandra DonaldsonI cannot speak more highly of Little Stars. Our daughter started here at 14 months and the amount of love, care and attention they provided her with was nothing short of astounding. It's a wonderful setting for toddlers and feels more like a home from home. We are forever indebted to the team here for making the transition into a nursery setting go quite so smoothly. Stoke Newington can be quite a challenge filtering through all of the nursery options but the thing that sets them aside is the genuine care and concern for the children. Thank you to Kate and the team for your abundance of love!

Capital City College Finsbury Park centre (formerly City and Islington College - Centre for Lifelong Learning)
guide name: SR boonI’m surprised why there are so many negative reviews. I came here to register for a nail course, but my English was not yet good enough to join. I received very good advice here, and everyone was friendly and helped me a lot. I will come back again when I am able to take the course. For me, this place is a good one.

guide name: Travel Buddy LondonThis park offers a wonderful environment for a variety of activities. It is an ideal destination for a leisurely walk or an invigorating run. You can also find it a perfect spot for relaxing with friends. Families with children will particularly appreciate the space available for them to enjoy. A charming small zoo is located within the park's grounds. Additionally, a convenient coffee shop is available for refreshments. It truly provides a well-rounded experience for all visitors. This establishment is a truly remarkable public space.

The Castle Climbing Centre
guide name: Marta ErdossWe arrived for a family taster session with my 10 years old son. ❤️ With another 2 families we were welcomed at the café, where you can buy lots of yummy stuff if you need a power boost and you can shop for climbing shoes, chalk, etc. At the main building we were again welcomed by a lovely member of staff. 😊 In a designate area we waited for our instructor who turned out to be Ben. He was super calm, very friendly and helpful all the way. Within that 90 minutes we were able to try bouldering, climbing with ropes and see and feel how the autobelay works. The place itself is absolutely massive, loads of fun with plenty of options to climb for every level. We had a great time, thank you! 😁👍🏻

Highbury Fields
guide name: Jim PatersonMuch loved and actively used, this relatively small but beautiful park seems to have something for everyone, from tennis courts, cafe, multi-purpose courts, children's adventure play area, fitness centre and more. It is actively used by joggers, or a place to relax on the benches or the grass. Many aspiring footballers have dribbled on these blades of grass.

Springfield Park
guide name: Nusrat Jahan ChowdhurySpringfield Park is such a beautiful and peaceful place. It’s really spacious with lots of benches and a lovely lake that makes it feel so calm. In the afternoons, it’s usually full of people walking their dogs or just enjoying the weather. The whole park has this really nice, relaxed vibe — perfect for a quiet stroll or just sitting and taking it all in.

Woodberry Wetlands, London Wildlife Trust
guide name: Stuart NicholsonI set off, by public transport and Shank’s Pony, with moderated expectations as I had read that the track on one side of the reservoirs was closed for maintenance. In fact, both sides will be closed for maintenance until January 2026. However, I entered, via Newnton Close, and saw and heard plenty of wildlife … 12 bird species and 1 grey squirrel. I am a birder and loved the scrubby nature of the area I could access behind the cafe. The birds love this habitat too. Good work being down to restore this habitat too being “nature friendly”. The website and signs need updating to avoid disappointing any more visitors.

guide name: MISS WDowns Park have served so many and since I’ve moved here 11 years ago, it had served me and my son daily. The Park rangers especially Chris who is a saviour for so many people is genuinely what I think keeps Downs Park safe, loved and respected. It is never an easy job to care for nature and the people around it. Always grateful for all the park rangers and the council for making sure the people have their green space! Much appreciated

The Best Turkish Kebab
guide name: Ali kYou know how some tastes just stick with you? That's what happened after I stumbled upon what I can only describe as the best Turkish kebab. It was years ago, with my uncle, and I've been chasing that flavour ever since. I've tried kebabs all over the world, but nothing compares to the memory of that first bite. The kebab itself was a masterpiece. The meat was wonderfully fatty and rich, with a texture that was incredibly soft. Each bite was a melt-in-your-mouth experience, a perfect symphony of flavour. They had a great selection of spices, creating a taste that was complex and deeply satisfying without being overpowering. This kebab didn't need any frills; a squeeze of fresh lemon juice was all it took to elevate it to perfection. This isn't just a meal—it's a revelation. For years, the memory of this kebab has lingered, a benchmark against which all others fail. This is the one you dream about, the one you'll travel for. If you're looking for an authentic, unforgettable kebab experience, you've found it.
