Barbican Centre
guide name: Skram JaxIn all my years going to London, NEVER entertained The Barbican Centre....silly me! Absolutely amazed at this great space, building, history, eateries, events & activities & landscape where concrete, water & greenery create surprising pleasure to the eye. Great cosmopolitan chilled out vibes. Watching your money, take a picnic! Free to enter The Barbican itself to have a mooch around 😍

St. John
guide name: Joseph YasmehWas drawn here after hearing this is many a persons favorite restaurant, including Anthony Bourdain. My criteria for a great restaurant are few: delicious, attentive service, and most importantly, creative flavors I can’t or haven’t easily replicated at home. St. John meets all of these. I particularly appreciate the ethos behind the ingredients, the personable service (shout out to June!) , and the unpretentious ambiance. It’s a bit ironic coming from someone who was once vegan. For fun, I’m gonna give a dumbed down explanation of what I tried. (I’m American, so I’m allowed to be dumb.) Bread: unusually good, nicely chewy Pickled herring: quite well done, not too fishy. It’s toast with fish, sauce, and pickled stuff. Eat the top slice of fish separately because you can’t fit it all in your mouth. Terrine: gamey, which I like. Like a square cold salami. Roast bone marrow: the classic. Fun to eat. Marrow has a subtle flavor. Don’t expect the intense flavor of cabeza. Roast middle white: very good. Like a pork steak, with crispy skin on outer edge. Prune sauce was pleasant. Ox tongue with beet: pleasantly salty, the roast middle white is more substantial. This was two thin slices. Madeleines: divine. I got these with a cup of milk and it was fantastic. Now, were any of these dishes so delectable that I’d come back just for one of them? The madeleines, yes. The bakery is phenomenal—I’d go more dessert heavy next time.

Charles Dickens Museum
guide name: Tsang JuliaA good antique museum with wonderful audio self tour guide, which definitely deserves an award. The exhibits are carefully arranged with superb explanations. However, more signs would be appreciated or else the kitchen section will be missed. It would be also great if there are people explaining the special exhibitions.

The Breakfast Club Hoxton
guide name: S. N.I thought it was a good place with a good atmosphere. I thought the food was pretty good, too. I had the shakshuka, I prefer a bit more spice and usually have it without beans but it was decent. My friends really liked the vibe and the food they ordered, and one of my friends really liked the service. So although I found it to be an average brunch place with normal service, I took their input into consideration for this slightly above average rating.

The Old Queens Head
guide name: Festus Ifiti jrI went to a gig last Friday at the old queens head. I've always wanted to come here so a gig was a nice opportunity to do it. I had a few drinks downstairs, the atmosphere was lovely and friendly, it was busy but you're still able to chat and find seats so sit down and chill. The gig was upstairs and absolutely heaving which was amazing to see. It wasn't the best gig but it's always lovely to hear live music and see loads of people dancing. I'll definitely come back here for a quiet drink or to come to a better gig. The service was remarkable, the staff had a smile on their face and I was able to get a drink within minutes. I can't wait to come back again when I'm in the Camden area 😊

Queen of Hoxton
guide name: Rebecca GillettGreat roof terrace, bar and night club all under one roof! We visited twice in one day, first for some drinks on the sunny roof terrace and then later on to dance the night away after a late bit of Hijingo bingo. Only giving 4/5 as some of the bar staff were a bit abrasive, but it was a busy night during pride week and to be fair they were probably exhausted! Drag performers that evening were absolutely fantastic and really made the night, anyone and everyone is welcome here and the feeling of unity is real 🤍 Highly recommend if in the area, close to loads of cool activities such as Hijingo, Junkyard Golf and Spitalfields Market which is a lovely wander! Good vibes here and probably some of the coolest toilets in a bar I've seen - Britney for me!

St Bartholomew the Great
guide name: Sam FarlowAlot of people dont know about this place but tha is to positive and useful social media I saw about this place and had to visit solely bc the gateway to the church is the last remaining architecture of the Tudor dynasty. The church is hidden away but is so beautiful and I love the inside with its high ceilings and grand organ. Definitely recommend researching and visiting.
