I cannot recommend the Royal School of Motoring highly enough! Thanks to them, I was able to pass my driving test in less than six months with just over 30 hours of lessons. All credit goes to Aruna, who is an absolutely brilliant instructor. His patience, calming presence and encouragement made the whole experience really stress-free. He was always super helpful, provided proper guidance and really built my confidence with each lesson. He’s also just a nice bloke! Honestly, if you're looking for a driving school in SE London then you can’t go wrong with Royal School of Motoring. Thanks again guys and thanks especially to Aruna!

Excellent place, even for departments outside of the arts. The computational neuroscience masters is exceptional. Very intensely academic, rigorous and truly prepare you for a postgraduate lifestyle if you choose a PhD or academia. However, it seems like you're outside of the campus' sphere of activity if you're not in the arts. This was not the case at my prior university, which was way worse (

There is no proper education system in this college it’s all about money As long as you pay that’s all they care about. For students who want to learn practical skills like becoming a plumber or pursuing technical training this place is just a waste of time The government should look into this matter and take action to stop such institutions from wasting students time and money.

Lovely views at sunset from this park - popular spot at this time for this reason. Some good facilities here too: a tennis court. This park is named after the telegraph post that was here in the past. It was used as part of an early warning system during ww2. You can read more details on this on a sign in the park. Nice place for a stroll anytime of day, lots of local dogs get walked here.

Oh my the Roast here is so good you will eat to bloatation, which is easily done because the portions are very generous. The service is excellent and the beer is kept well with a good selection of real ales and decent alcohol free options. This is one of the genuinely good pubs you won’t be disappointed.

We booked the Diwali Celebration dinner after reading the reviews and being impressed by the celebration event they had planned, including dancing. We are not locals so it required 2.5hrs travel to get to the restaurant. We arrived hungry and excited for the cultural feast. With many awards, accolades, and high reviews we were positive that we would be in for an exceptional experience. It was not. I don’t know what happened, if it was because it was Monday night, or because the restaurant was busy, or if the chef was sick, or maybe our expectations were too high, but sadly we all left disappointed by our experience. The set menu - all of the dishes looked amazing but the serving temperature, and portion was underwhelming. Sweet potato starter - was average with a too sweet sauce. Salmon - was slightly over cooked and dry. Duck pie - had lovely spice and flavours but was only luke warm. Kofta - had lovely flavours but with only 1 ball it was small. In total during all the 5 courses we had 1/4 of a naan each (see image). By the time we came to dessert our group was still hungry so we asked to buy more food from the Ala carte menu, but they informed us it was not available due to Diwali menu. The waiter asked if we were still hungry and we said YES. Dessert - looked stunning but the popcorn was not crispy and fresh, my dounut was dry and so hard to cut with the spoon as the only utensil we were given. The Flavours of dessert missed sharpness. The dancers did a great job. Sit in the middle of the restaurant if you want to see them more. We were by the entrance and they dance mostly in the centre of the restaurant. We are frequent visitors to restaurants with Indian tasting menus (Veeraswamy, Madhu’s, etc) but this is the first time we have left a dinner still wanting more food.

There are so many green parrots resting on a low tree, eating the fruits or the seeds, they made very loud chewing sounds , o found them quite cute, feeling so close to a bit of wild life in London, this place always make me feel surreal, it's like looking at centre from another world.

Stayed here the last couple of weeks for work with 4 colleagues, the 1st few nights where Ok & breakfast is good, however the night time meals are very hit and miss, as nobody seems to be in charge, i.e. people are, wandering into the restraint area to see if there is someone to serve them at the bar etc, we booked a table for 18:45 & we where still awaiting for our order to be taken at 19:45, one of my colleagues asked politely if our table could be serviced and they just looked and ignored him, he came back to the table and we could hear the staff laughing and joking to each other, after an additional 15 minutes we decided to try to find an alternative place to eat, we informed a member of staff of the situation and the reply was "its not my fault we are short staffed" even though the restaurant was only at approximately 20% capacity, unfortunately we have been booked in for another 4 weeks so currently negotiating a move with the office, If you have the same situation I can however recommend a restraint literally 2 minutes walk away, will be eating there from now on. UPDATE fare is fare to be honest since my original review this has changed as they have a few new key staff, nicholas is very professional and polite, this is the main reason i'm reviewing my original review things have changed with waiting and the food has improved, well done.

Lovely pub with the best Sunday roast I’ve ever had (outside of my mums of course). Delicious food, great service and lovely tempo to the meal. Perfect amount of time to digest between courses without feeling like we were waiting too long or rushed at any point. Already planning our visit to come back!

What started as a hopeful experience, since the interior and exterior of the pub looked great, quickly turned into disappointment. I ordered the lunch special with the Grilled Cheese Toastie and a Coke. The menu described it as “a medley of mature Cheddar, Gouda and Emmental, with béchamel sauce in a toasted farmhouse loaf,” which sounded very promising. What arrived, however, was nothing close. The bread was barely toasted, the cheese felt more like a thin melted layer had been smeared on like butter and there was none of the flavour promised. I sent it back and requested for it to actually be grilled with the cheeses listed. What came back was even worse, still under-toasted, with a cold, dense lump of cheese inside that was unpleasant and inedible. The only reason I ate half was because I didn’t have time to order something else before I had to leave. At £9.25, this was not only underwhelming but genuinely disappointing. The only reason I’m giving this 2 stars instead of 1 is because the server was really nice and apologetic.

    Amersham Arms

    guide name: London Pub Map

🚇 New Cross 🍺 £6.00 Pravha The Amersham Arms is located at the eastern end of New Cross in Southeast London. The nearest station is New Cross which is just across the road. This landmark pub was built in the mid 19th century and was briefly known as the Amersham Hotel. The name comes from the town of Amersham in Buckinghamshire where the local land owners came from. This is a two room pub that is traditionally decorated with some features dating from the 1930’s. The main bar area is a good size and wraps around a centrally located servery. The decor consists of dark fielded wall panels, a bare boarded floor, a fireplace and a mix of chesterfields and conventional seating. The second room is used for hosting live music and comedy nights which are popular with locals and students at nearby Goldsmiths Uni. The beer line up is all keg and offers a selection of well known beers and a few from @brixtonbrewery .I decided on a Pravha, my pint was great, price point was average. This is a wet-led pub that doesn’t serve food. I arrived around 2.30pm on a chilly but sunny Saturday afternoon in January. The atmosphere was chilled and relaxed with one group in attendance gathered around a large table. Whilst I was taking a few photos, I got chatting to the group who were off to an event at nearby Goldsmiths Uni. It turned out we had a similar taste in music from Funk, Acid Jazz to Northern Soul, so they decided to kidnap me and take me to their event, in for a penny in for a pound. I mentioned that I had one more pub to visit, they said “no problem” and happily accompanied me to my next boozer. I ended spending the next few hours with these Guys and they were the nicest bunch of people you would ever meet. This pub is a popular student pub and hosts regular live music and a long-running comedy night named Happy Mondays. From the red neon ‘Take Courage’ sign to the dark wood interior, visiting this traditional boozer was an excellent experience. I big shout out to @wide6ver and the gang who were fantastic company. This pub is definitely one for the list. 📅 25th January 2025 More London Pub info @londonpubmap 🍻

Food - Really enjoyed it! Steak was cooked to my liking. I'd like a pepper corn sauce, though! But not complaining Service - very good. Welcoming and the woman she was working so hard and still managing to have a chat and smile. Atmosphere- couldn't ask for anything better. Good with babies as well.

The food was exceptionally fresh, tasty, generous, and beautifully done. Portions were copious, and everything felt authentic and well-prepared. The staff were also fantastic - attentive, friendly, and really made us feel welcome. Highly recommend this spot for anyone looking for a great pub experience in the area!

    One Tree Hill Park

It was a beautiful summer's day. The breeze was... Stupendous. Like Chris Eubank I almost wanted to dance but he was unavailable to show me how My morning walk through One Tree Hill Park soundtracked by Paul Simon's classic Graceland album really set me up for a day at the home desk this fine monday morning in August. The park is named for the 'one tree' present which is in fact the Honor oak which gives name to the nearby transit hub and residential area. The Honor oak present today was planted in tribute to one which stood in this place in the Tudor era and saw Elizabeth I grace the ground which sat under it for a regal picnic. To my knowledge Elizabeth II did not grace the replacement tree with the same treatment but I am open to being proved wrong on this! There is a fantastic view of the London skyline which entertainingly no longer accords with the sign which was placed to detail what should be viewable from this point. The trees directly in front of this viewpoint also obscure some of this fine view with their foliage. Although they're not meaning to do this I would appreciate if the council would trim them back, as it sort of nullifies the efficacy of the viewpoint. Sort it out Lewisham council!! Nice for a walk most times of day, there may be people partaking in potentially unsavoury behaviour here in evenings, only bring hardy and worldly children at these times if you must take them!

Wandered in today for a snack as it smelt so good, order 6 jerk wings and my guy defo gave me more. The wings were AMAZING, the meat literally fell off the bone it was so tender. The jerk glaze was sweeter than I’m used to and not spicy at all, but still tasted really really good! Staff were so lovely and welcoming - will definitely be coming back for some oxtail and brown stew chicken
