The layout and spatial design are really intriguing, and you can see works from a studio that have been donated to the museum. Right when you enter, the shop is on the right-hand side, where you can buy items and also choose souvenirs of your visit. The museum sits next to a large park in the Kensington area (it’s right on Kensington High Street, at the entrance to Holland Park) so afterwards you can walk there and enjoy the space. Overall, a very satisfying experience, if you have any interest in design, architecture or just quiet inspiration, this is one to go and explore.

Ravenscourt Park
guide name: AvinashRavenscourt Park is one of those underrated spots that quietly does a lot right. It’s spacious, green, and feels like a proper breather from the city without needing to go far. While it’s not as sprawling as nearby Gunnersbury Park, it still covers plenty of ground—especially if you’re after a bit of a run or some open space to clear your head. There’s a loop around the park that clocks in around 1.5 km, which makes it perfect for casual runners or anyone looking to get a few laps in without dodging too many prams and picnickers. What really stands out though is how well-equipped it is for sports—tennis courts, football pitches, and even a good play area for kids. It’s active, but not hectic. The trees are mature, the lawns are open, and overall, it’s an excellent bit of lung space in West London. One thing to note: I did notice a few rough sleepers tucked away in corners of the park. It didn’t feel unsafe, just something you might clock if you’re walking through early or late. All in all, Ravenscourt is a well-kept, community-friendly park with just the right mix of activity and calm. Not massive, but it punches above its size.

Been here to see "Interview" in studio2, staff was very kind from start to finish explaining no readmission was permitted and the show had no breaks, no photo/filming allowed but some pictures taken at the end of the show were shared on the socials, so the rule is to avoid disturbance to actors when they perform, not before or after. Comfortable seating although basic chairs provided, very wide stage, good view from nearly every point but row C is recommended.

Surprisingly, I knew very little about the Victorian artist Frederic Leighton beforehand, though I immediately recognised some of his work as we wandered through his extraordinary home. When we bought our tickets, I asked the staff where best to begin. The member of staff was wonderfully helpful, suggesting that newcomers either start in the basement with a short introductory film or explore the house first for a more immediate surprise. We chose the film, and although it revealed a few glimpses of what was to come, I’m glad we did, it gave us valuable context about Leighton’s life and artistry, enriching the experience that followed. Every room was a delight, filled with exquisite furnishings and decorated in a mix of artistic styles, including Leighton’s own meticulously crafted works. My personal highlight was the extension housing the breathtaking Arab Hall. We lingered there for quite a while, taking in the intricate details and chatting with a knowledgeable volunteer who shared even more insight. After thoroughly exploring the house, we enjoyed drinks and cake in the charming autumnal garden. (I highly recommend the apple shortbread - delicious!) It was fascinating to learn that Leighton House was part of a circle of artists’ homes, though unfortunately, most of the others aren’t open to the public. Sambourne House, however, is linked to the museum, and I plan to visit there in the future. We also had the chance to enjoy a small visiting exhibition tucked behind the video room, which sparked lively conversation among my friends as we each picked out favourites and compared styles. Overall, Leighton House is a captivating blend of art, architecture, and history, and it made for a thoroughly memorable day out. The only disappointment was the fact there were no fridge magnets with scenes from the house or Leighton's artwork. I like to buy one when I visit places as a memento.

Underwent extensive renovations fairly recently so is looking in good shape. Probably preferable to the place across the road which has a bit more of a sports bar type of focus. guide name: A MThe best pub meal I’ve had in my 35 years lived. Simple dishes executed perfectly. Quality produce, lovely ambience and venue. Good service. What was ordered: Chicken liver parfait (the relish was balanced and clean, the brioche was light but crisp enough to hold the parfait) “Fish and chips” (airy, crispy and light battered haddock with house cut chips. Perfect mint and pea sauce, clean tartare more on the side of mayonnaise but balanced when mix with the gherkin sauce) Double cheese burger (the house cut smoked bacon was the star. The burger sauce was on point). Onion soup, Mac and cheese, steak with chimicuri were also ordered. Everything was faultless. I look forward to my return.

guide name: Suzanne IwaiStill stunning river views even though summer hasong departed. The sunset we witnessed was deserving of Paris, Budapest or any other European capital. Lovely underpass covered in William Morris themed flowers. Pleased l had prised myself away from watching Sunday afternoon TV. The river walk is crowded with the history of rowing, river boats, posh pubs and of course people watching is always fun. People in change season mode seem to pay more attention to the lights in the sky, the trees shedding their summer dresses. I'm 71 ...I'll kick up a storm in a pile of crispy autumn leaves because it's so delightful to listen to that crackle when you connect with them.
