The Reach Climbing Wall

guide name: Ian Scott

I've just completed a two day rope skills and beginners climbing course here. Paul was an excellent teacher with a great sense of humour. My daughter is doing a climbing course here and now I can support her when she wants to climb. Highly recommended plus the on-site cafe sells tasty food (great flapjacks).

Love to Swim

guide name: Joy W

I booked a private 1-to-1 swim lessons with LoveToSwim for 9th July, which they rescheduled to 10th July at 6pm. The same reschedule for the following week and this is due to the teacher Laura's request. I showed up at the agreed time and location -- no teacher arrived. I waited the full session and sent multiple emails (on 10 July and again on 15 July), asking for an update and a refund. Still no reply. The contact numbers on their website are either invalid or lead to an automated message saying they only operate via email - which they also don't answer. Completely unacceptable level of service. I'm still waiting for my refund and an explanation.

Excel London

ExCeL London is one of those places that redefine what an international exhibition venue should be. Everything works with impressive precision — from the clear signage to the flawless logistics, from the ease of access to the speed of movement inside and outside the pavilions. You can truly feel that every detail has been thought through. The organization is first-class: professional, smooth, and remarkably efficient. The app works beautifully, making it easy to schedule meetings, navigate the event, and create real, meaningful connections. The flow of people is constant yet never chaotic — an example of how good planning can transform complexity into harmony. In short, no point asking around

Thames Barrier Park

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5/5 Stars Visited today for a lovely walk and what a fantastic find! This park offers incredible views of the River Thames and the Thames Barrier - absolutely stunning and quite unique compared to your typical London parks. There were a few summer kids clubs running when we visited, but the park is so spacious that this wasn't an issue at all. Plenty of room for everyone to enjoy the space comfortably. The grounds are really well maintained and it felt very safe throughout our visit. There's a cafe on site (though it was closed when we visited), which would be a nice bonus for future visits. Easy to get to as well - Pontoon Dock DLR station is the nearest transport link. This is a great place to visit if you want something a bit different from the usual London parks. The modern design and Thames Barrier views make it really special. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a peaceful spot with fantastic river views! 5 stars - will definitely be back!

A Culinary Gem for Chinese Food Lovers Simply the best Chinese food in London! (Much better than restaurants in Chinatown)We enjoyed incredibly fresh and scrumptious dishes with a proper, authentic Cantonese taste. The dim sum was absolutely divine. The experience was topped off by a fantastic view of the City Airport and the river. With onsite parking and being next to a DLR station, it's incredibly easy to visit. A must-try for anyone seeking the best Chinese food in town!

Premier Inn London Docklands (Excel) hotel

guide name: Dillon Sheil

The hotel was undergoing renovations while I was there so there was no restaurant or bar. The "ultimate" wifi was awfully slow, advertised at 24MBPS but rarely hit 10. Room was cozy but there was a large orange stain under the desk. Not recommended even though Premier Inn are usually a safe bet.

Tapa Tapa

guide name: NUT

The food is very tasty, we ordered quite a few different plates and i can confidently say that they are all tasty no matter what you go with. The pork the beef and the chicken were all cooked to perfection. The combination of flavour is great and the meat just melts in your mouth. We also got the Gin Tonic and Pink Wine with our meal but this is unfortunately when we also got offered water with our meal. Tap water. Which everyone would have to agree is free. The lady serving us just asked if we would like water too which we agreed to, only to find after the meal that we have been charged £2 for the water???? Without being told that this tap water would be under any sort of cost. The food is good but it is a very expensive place. And its a shame because again. The atmosphere is great, the food is good and the staff were nice but this devious omission of the charge is pretty disrespectful hence why it gets 4/5 stars from me. Update: i have decided to drop a few stars from my review after the response of Tapa Tapa. They appear to be very condesending and "better" than you. The waitress came with the menu, then immediately took our attention away from the menu to offer us water, never stating it was at a certain cost. She did this specifically to conceal this fact, and they should be ashamed. The chef is amazing, and I wish for him to find a better workplace, as he should not work under such people. I will never visit again and will spread the word about this business and how it treats customers.

Zero Sette @ Excel Ltd

Absolutely lovely meal. First time visiting here when visiting Excel and will be back all times in the future. Was over the moon they accommodated anyone with coeliac, with gluten-free penne. Put a lot of faith in me eating out again. All the food I was able to order was flawless, I can not complain about anything. The staff were all wonderful, lovely, and super friendly. Again, we're so accommodating gluten-free.

McDonald's

Honestly, especially through the drive through, the customer service is 0. Rude people all the time especially the man who gave us our coffee on 26/10/2025@ 11:45. Asked for extra caramel, he said we need to pay extra, but it’s not true and we know this because last time we asked for extra caramel they didn’t make a fuss about it. He then said “ye ye have a nice evening” sarcastically and shut the window.

China Palace

China Palace is just walking distance from Excel Centre serving authentic Dim Sum. It's super easy to get to with links to the Lizzy Line and DLR and there's also free parking as well. I took my parents and ordered some steamed Dim Sum along with some Fried options. The Prawn Cheung Fun was my fave along with the Custard Buns. The portions were decent and there's also Karaoke available downstairs.

The Fox, Excel

guide name: chiangmaicharlies

The Fox seems to offer good potential, having a good range of indoor and outdoor seating and the bar serving a range of small meals and drinks. Going by some of the review photographs, it is popular in the evening and weekends. I had a meal and drinks, midday during the week whilst I was waiting for my passport to be processed at the very nearby London passport office. It was obvious that a lot of people waiting for their passports use this pub so it has a good location. I had large nachos and a drink whilst there. The drink was ok but pretty pricey at £7 a pint. I had the large nachos meal which was undoubtedly the very worst nachos meal I've ever experienced - a very poor mix and very bland. I had to spice it up with plenty of Tabasco. The staff were efficient and pleasant enough, but the overall feeling here was a very cold place with little soul. The fox will undoubtedly do well with it's nearness to the passport office but I don't believe it's giving customers a good deal. Most of the time it is a very quiet area but frequent planes taking off from the city airport are EXTREMELY loud.
