City St George's, University of London

guide name: Ruslan Haidar

I visited the university while they were on vacation, and it was well worth it despite the difficulty of getting there. The place is beautiful, and the university seems spectacular — definitely worth a visit. P.S.: There’s a coffee machine inside the campus for just one pound.

The Angel Laser Clinic

guide name: Judy -

I’ve been coming to this clinic on/off for nearly 3yrs. I was motivated to write this review to not only write about the incredible results I’ve had, but also to comment on the exceptional customer service and duty of care when I had an issue. I’ve seen 3 different specialists over that time, and each one was meticulous, patient and friendly at each session. For each visit, they made sure to check that nothing had changed re medical history, explain what I would expect in session, and outline my responsibilities re: subsequent care. They also had a detailed understanding of the differences based on my darker skin as an Afro-Caribbean woman. The clinic is always spotless as well. Quite recently, I had a bad reaction in my underarms, which left me feeling very alarmed. When I emailed, they not only validated my concern (vs immediately denying they had done anything wrong), but also investigated what had been done in my previous session to understand what went wrong. I was so reassured by how seriously it was taken (huge kudos to Laura), with photos taken and in-person consultation held. In the end, it was determined to not be likely caused by the laser, but they still offered ways to remediate if I didn’t feel comfortable progressing with my package. You can tell a lot by a business not only in the day-to-day services delivered, but also how they treat customers when things go wrong. I cannot recommend this clinic enough, you will be in safe hands.

Nuffield Health Bloomsbury Fitness & Wellbeing Gym

guide name: James Wyatt

I’ve been training at Nuffield for several months now, and I can honestly say it’s one of the best gym experiences I’ve had. The facilities are always spotless, the equipment is top-notch, and there’s a really welcoming atmosphere from both the staff and members. A special mention has to go to Mark, one of the personal trainers—he’s absolutely fantastic. Not only is he incredibly knowledgeable and professional, but he’s also genuinely supportive and motivating. Mark takes the time to understand your individual goals and tailors each session to push you in the right direction without ever feeling overwhelming. His energy, attention to form, and positive attitude make every workout something to look forward to. If you're looking for expert guidance, especially from someone who truly cares about your progress, I can’t recommend Mark highly enough. Five stars all round!

Harry Potter Shop King's Cross

guide name: Olga L.

Fun place for Harry Potter fans. The shop has a great selection of merchandise, and everything looks authentic, just like in the movies. The atmosphere is magical, but be prepared to queue if you want the famous photo at Platform 9¾. The official photo costs about £15 – personally I didn’t feel it was worth paying, since you can also take your own free picture of the platform area. Nice to visit if you’re a fan, but it can get very crowded.

The British Library

A library may not typically be on a tourist’s must-see list, but the Treasures Gallery at the British Library is well worth a stop on your visit to London. This free, permanent exhibition showcases some of the world’s most iconic works, including Leonardo da Vinci’s notebooks, Beethoven’s music books, the Beatles’ handwritten lyric notes, the Magna Carta, and the Gutenberg Bible - offering a rare chance to see these remarkable artifacts from across cultures and centuries up close. Highly recommended!

Highbury Fields

guide name: Jim Paterson

Much loved and actively used, this relatively small but beautiful park seems to have something for everyone, from tennis courts, cafe, multi-purpose courts, children's adventure play area, fitness centre and more. It is actively used by joggers, or a place to relax on the benches or the grass. Many aspiring footballers have dribbled on these blades of grass.

Charles Dickens Museum

guide name: Shadra Bruce

Fascinating look at the life and lifestyle of Charles Dickens at the Charles Dickens home on Doughty Street. It was really fascinating waking through his home having just been at Mark Twain's home. While the two never met, Twain was a great admirer of Dickens and even took his wife to see Dickens perform. The two homes were occupied by the writers around the same time, but they were significantly different in terms of decor and modernity. Dickens had no plumbing (chamber pots and toilet chairs) while Twain had 4 ensuite bathrooms and gas lighting throughout the house. The furnishings of Dickens home were rather austere, especially compared to the opulence of Twain's home with its custom made sideboard, poster bed with angel carvings, and fireplace mantle. There is an elevator for those with mobility issues, otherwise there are several steps to get to each floor. Worth a visit especially for literature and history geeks.

The Old Queens Head

guide name: Festus Ifiti jr

I went to a gig last Friday at the old queens head. I've always wanted to come here so a gig was a nice opportunity to do it. I had a few drinks downstairs, the atmosphere was lovely and friendly, it was busy but you're still able to chat and find seats so sit down and chill. The gig was upstairs and absolutely heaving which was amazing to see. It wasn't the best gig but it's always lovely to hear live music and see loads of people dancing. I'll definitely come back here for a quiet drink or to come to a better gig. The service was remarkable, the staff had a smile on their face and I was able to get a drink within minutes. I can't wait to come back again when I'm in the Camden area 😊

The Wilmington

guide name: Steve Ralph

This was my venue of choice for our Sunday lunch before leaving London to head home. May I pat myself on the back? A cracking old pub serving excellent food, across our group we had three different roasts with all of them receiving praise. The service was brilliant and I really have nothing but praise for the staff, food and drinks. Try it out.

Camino

guide name: Martynas Leskevic

Visiting Camino felt like stepping into a sunlit corner of Andalusia. The space is cosy yet elegant, perfect for family meals, quiet dinners, or lively evenings. Shreyas, our waiter, welcomed our toddler with warmth while guiding our meal with calm confidence. My wife couldn’t get enough of the pulpo. It was tender, lightly charred and impeccably cooked. My solomillo(ordered rare)was a masterclass in flavour. Gambas al ajillo, rich with garlic, transported me straight to Malaga. And the anchovies on bread were clean, briny perfection. Desserts concluded the evening beautifully: a delicate Basque cheesecake for me, lightly spiced churros for her. Don’t forget to order a bottle of Cava and a glass of sherry! Camino doesn’t just serve tapas - it captures the heart of southern Spain. Thank you!

Ottolenghi Islington

guide name: Bob Hawthorne

Amazing, if expensive, food. Everything you'd expect of the Ottolenghi flavour palette. Lovely ambience on communal tables with a few private tables if desired. Tasty nibbles, amazing salads, interesting hot mains and great desserts served 'tapas' style i.e. together but with a 20 minute delay for hot plates. Slightly rushed as tables turned every 1 hour 45. Good selection of organic wines - again, a little pricey. I'd recommend for pure, natural taste but at a price that's getting close to fine dining.

Premier Inn London Kings Cross hotel

guide name: Dan Weatherley

Stayed here for work recently. Check in process was extremely easy, there are Lifts for the room, but had some trouble finding the stairs on the way up to the room, I think the signs should be a bit clearer. The room fairly basic as are most Premier Inns, but it was clean and the bed was comfortable. Shower good once I worked out how to get it hot. There is also air conditioning in the rooms which is a huge bonus. The breakfast was pretty good, however the sausages were not cooked enough for my liking, but this is just a minor gripe. Lastly, the location is excellent, and is a stone's throw from King's Cross Station.

Thankfully, we didn't have to download and order from the app. The fish and chips were AWESOME!!!! The last 3 times I have had fish and chips over the past week, at different restaurants, were terrible. However, the Camden Ale and the fish and chips were perfect. Highly recommend this place for fish and chips. This was a perfect meal.

I wish I could give this place more stars. We got there early as we couldn't get a seat the night before. They fill up quick and for good reasons. The food was amazing, it changes every night but tonight we had the steak sandwich, pork belly, and cheese cake. Food was amazing, the chef was awesome and friendly. Staff is great as well as the beer and drink selection. Get here early but don't miss this place!
