Canary Wharf takes its name from one of the berths at West Wood Quay of the Import Dock. This was built in 1936 for Fruit Lines Ltd for the Mediterranean and Canary Islands fruit trade. At their request, the quay and warehouse were given the name Canary Wharf.
Over the past twenty years the area has seen massive change and today Canary Wharf is one of the UKs main financial centers playing host to many global banking giants such as HSBC, Barclays & Merrill Lynch. Ernest-Brooks International has opened an office here specifically to make sure that we are easy to find and accessible to our clients and their needs.
